What do I need to do to prepare for my appointment?
We recommend avoiding using any retinol or retinoid skincare products on the treatment area for one week ahead of your appointment. On the day of your appointment, please show up without makeup, lotions, or face creams.
What will my skin look like after the treatment?
Immediately after the treatment, your skin will likely look red and slightly inflamed. This will fade within a few hours. Most treated areas will develop a small scab. We ask you not to scratch or pick at this scab. It will fall off naturally within 1-3 weeks, leaving your skin healed underneath.
Can I wear makeup after my appointment?
Yes, you can wear makeup two days after your skin tag removal appointment. If your skin does scab, we recommend that you avoid touching it. We also recommend that you moisturize and apply SPF regularly.
How long will it take for my skin tag to be gone?
The skin tag removal treatment itself will dry out the skin tag. Don’t worry if immediately after, your skin tag is still attached. It will fall off within a few days.
Does skin tag removal work on all areas of the body?
We can do skin tag removal for most areas of the body but don’t recommend it for the feet or legs. We would be happy to recommend other treatment options through an individual consultation.
How many treatments will I need?
For most small skin tags and irregularities, we can permanently remove the lesion in just one short treatment. For larger areas or irregularities that have developed for a long time, we may require a second treatment. After an individual consultation, we can give you a suggested treatment plan.
